POSITION SUMMARY

The Master Production Planner is a key member of Sierra Nevada Brewing's Supply Chain team. The primary responsibility of the Master Production Planner is developing and communicating the rolling master production plans for brewing and packaging operations in accordance with the Sales & Operations Process (S&OP). This role requires a strong technical background preferably in a mid to large size brewery environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

Essential Duties

With the inputs from the Sales and Operations Planning process create aggregate rolling 12-16 week operations master supply plans that ensure proper product freshness with the goal of meeting service level targets while maximizing production effectiveness and minimizing inventory investments.

 

Coordinate the aggregate Master Production Plan with Material Buyers to align procurement and inventory strategies, resulting in consistent availability of sourced materials to achieve master production plan and weekly production schedule requirements.

 

Communicate the aggregate Master Production Plan with Operations teams to align all resources to achieve master production plan and weekly production schedule requirement with focus on maintaining inventory target levels and service levels. Serve as an early warning system on misalignment of operational capabilities and demand trends

 

Collaborate with the Commercial, Innovation and Production teams to ensure on-time execution of New Product launches once the release dates enter into the mid-range planning horizon.

 

Support the development of the Supply-side Sales and Operations Planning meeting agenda and content.

 

Assist in the management of the Master Data effort required to support our planning and purchasing systems with the goal of providing consistent and process driven management of all Supply Chain related data elements, to include but not be limited to Item Masters, Supplier Masters, BOMs and Routers.

 

Responsible for continuous improvement of the master planning process and performance.

 

Develop and report on brewing and packaging Supply Chain KPIs including but not limited to schedule adherence, on-time starts and in process inventory measures.

 

Serves as co-functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all processes and tools related to data, data integration, data reporting and analytics. Ensure Supply Chain tools are functioning as intended, consistently looking for methods and tools to improve how we operate.

 

Serve as contingency backup to production schedulers and buyers if necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to utilize and integrate data from various sources, accurately interpret data, and appropriately apply findings to business issues

Solid understanding of supply chain principles and tradeoffs. Need to be able to demonstrate how cause and effect would influence metrics within supply chain scenarios.

Strong customer orientation with recognition that the supply chain functions services the needs of both internal customers and external customers

Strong communication skills: interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills for both internal and external purposes

High degree of learning agility with ability to rapidly develop supply chain and continuous improvement expertise

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships and cross-functional business partnerships

Ability to effectively navigate ambiguity and lead change in an environment with constantly changing priorities
