POSITION SUMMARY

The Packaging Supervisor leads a team responsible for operating, changing over and maintaining packaging equipment.  This role is responsible for meeting production demands while maintaining a safe work environment and producing a quality product.  This role requires a strong technical aptitude with experience executing maintenance on manufacturing equipment.  Responsibilities will vary between department supervision and packaging level projects using our company values as a guide.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

Essential Duties

Responsible for the entire employee lifecycle from hiring to coaching and mentoring to progressive feedback and employee growth; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies.

 

Manipulates and executes packaging production schedules to maximize efficiency and reduce waste while meeting customer demand

 

Fosters a culture focused on making safety a priority, addressing potential safety hazards quickly and effectively

 

Facilitates problem solving activities to determine root cause and close the loop on issues that impact the state of the business

 

Supports the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the packaging department

 

Develops and updates packaging procedures, check sheets and communications to aid in the execution of daily activities

 

Prioritizes the machine PM"s and leads the execution of scheduled assignments ensuring a high quality of workmanship is always demonstrated

 

Capable of performing packaging operator and maintenance functions taking a hands-on approach whenever necessary

 

Troubleshoot and diagnose problems associated with high speed packaging equipment

 

Perform other duties and take on other responsibilities as required

Competent with the Microsoft Office suite of programs (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Demonstrated mechanical ability & technical aptitude

Knowledge of production processes and quality control

Team player with the ability to work autonomously

Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions and implement procedures for solutions

Excellent communication skills
